ImageAGE: 36
JOB: Concert violinist
SIGN: Gemini
HOBBY: Training for endurance sports. Marathons or Ironman. I hope to move on to ultramarathons in a season or two.
ALBUM: Mozart concert arias by Edita Gruberova. Her singing Handel’s “Eternal Source Of Light Divine” is my favorite. When I get married someday, I want that to be the start of the ceremony.
MOVIE: Beautiful Thing. It is the only movie I have ever seen in the theater six times. I’m a hopeless romantic.

INSTINCT: Your fave thing about living here?
DREW IRWIN: My job and the community that supports it. As a violinist, I have to go where there is work, and I was happy when I figured out Little Rock was such a great place. I have time to play a full concert season, train for my endurance sports, teach 15 or so students and be on the city of Little Rock’s Arts and Culture Commission.

Hidden talent?
I bake a mean chocolate chip cookie! Also, I am conversant in German. I have spent a bit of time there for my music.

Sexiest thing about a guy?
Confidence! If he’s also a little shy, even better. The ability to try and improve the world is something I find amazing in a man: someone who can improve himself while making the world a better place. I try and do that with my life. Sometimes I am successful. [Laughs]

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A train engineer. I had 16 train sets at one time. Can we say obssesive-compulsive? [Laughs] I thought about president of the U.S. at one point. Too much responsibility for me!

Anything else?
I would like to build a life with someone and share the good and bad. We would have rituals and traditions we do every day, week or year that make us happy and connect us to each other and to the community. This may sound intellectual, but it is driven by my heart. If I don’t find someone that fits, I will be okay, but I think that a lifelong relationship is the ultimate challenge.
