Adoption Agencies In NY Expect A Boon In Adoptions With Legal Same-Sex Marriage |

It probably doesn't take a genius (hey, we're not judging) to throw it out there that adoptions are expected to pick up in the Empire state once gays can legally tie the knot. But read what the Associated Press is reporting after the jump.
While New York already allows unmarried couples—both gay and straight—to adopt children, a marriage of two committed adults could reinforce a couple's case when they try to impress upon adoption agencies and birth mothers how great they'd be as adoptive parents.
Experts don't yet know for a fact whether adoptions have increased in the five other states (plus D.C) where marriage has been legal, because we'll need the final results from the 2010 census, but experts expect that they have increased there as well.
Of course, religious conservatives are up in arms, unnerved and irate that more children will actually have healthy, loving homes.
