While polls are still reporting final numbers in today's North Carolina elections, news sources are calling Amendment One as passed. Details on the margin after the jump.

According to The New Civil Rights Movement, with 35 percent of the vote in, the margin is 58 percent yes, 42 percent no.

North Carolina now becomes the 30th state to pass a constitutional ban on same-sex marraige in America. North Carolina law already bans same-sex marriage, like nine other states, but the amendment goes beyond state law by voiding other types of domestic unions from carrying legal status.

Both sides of the Amendment One battle reportedly spent more than $3 million on the campaigns, combined.

Congratulations NC for stripping a whole group of people of their rights to be included in every aspect of society.. Perhaps we the people that you have solely excluded should start excluding you in parts that you so enjoy every day... So the next time you go to the Doctor, see a Nurse, walk into a bank, go out to eat, have your hair done, get pulled over, have a fire at your house or need any other basic services dig deep into you sole and say this person is treating me like I would want to be treated but yet why can I not do the same. Perhaps we should ban together and do a day without a gay....... let see the impact it has..

Is it too late to say we were wrong in the 1860s and let the south secede?
