In another quote from a gaylebrity about the makeup (no pun intended) of the modern gay man, Bravo's Andy Cohen says that he's sick of the "lisping, flamboyant queen" gay stereotype that's still often potrayed in media.

“I think the lisping, flamboyant queen thing is over played and it's just lame at this point,” Andy told the New Times Miami. “I think now there's so many gay people who are parents, spouses, and who have real committed long-term relationships that the idea that everyone's in a boa dancing on a bar is, you know, very 1988.”

(It's interesting to note that Boy George laments the loss of the distinct '80s gay identity in a recent interview.)

So how does Andy want the media to present modern gay men moving forward?

“I would embrace [the stereotype] that we're fun and I think we find the humor in things.”

Do you think that Andy's network shuns the "lisping, flamboyant" gay stereotype as well?
