Archbishop_Raymond_Leo_Burke

In a reference to the late Senator Ted Kennedy, Vatican Archbishop Raymond Burke emitted some controversial remarks, even for the Catholic Church.

“Neither Holy Communion nor funeral rites should be administered to [politicians supportive of marriage equality]. To deny these is not a judgment of the soul, but a recognition of the scandal and its effects,” he said in an address to roughly 200 people.

So now anyone who supports love should be excommunicated? So much for the tenets of Christianity, Mr. Burke.

That is why the Catholic Church is not good for me and I am no longer one.

Withhold the Sacraments for anyone who disagrees with you...unless of course they touch little boys, 'cause that's okay! Somehow, I think Jesus would applaud any descension shown a self important, corrupt church that claims to speak in his name.

Can people not see how messed up this is? What about no funerla rights for molesters who the place in other churches after they have them change their names? Sickening.

And they wonder why they continue to close churches and lose parishioners. Keep your hate. Just leave me with Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny. Presents and chocolate. Done and DONE.

Leave it to the Catholic Church what a bunch of hypocrites. They allow priests who love to play with little boys to remain as priests and even pay off the families to keep it quiet but they dont want the Sacraments to go to people who support our rights as men and women to live our lives the way we were born to be. If homosexuality is a "sin" they why was Christ silent on the subject when he came to this earth??? Can even one priest, monsignor, cardinal or even the pope himself answer this???? I think the catholic church should just stop embarassing itself and stop living with all of these contradictions. Take care of your own house before you attempt to help others in their own homes.

As a Catholic, or former Catholic, I am ashamed of a religion I followed for many many years. I have lost all respect for it. All.

Speaking as a GOOD gay I completely agree with the Archbishop. Say what you want, but you are either with God or against him.

The church needs to be reminded what Peter says:

“Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to God.” - St. Peter Acts 10:9-35

I'm sure 'Teddy' knew he did what he thought was right. And that is all God could have asked of him, irregardless of what some old, bitter and celibate men in Rome think.
