Don't bite the hand that feeds you, Babs.
It hasn't been a great weekend for Barbra Streisand. Though most will remember it as the weekend Barbra seemed out of place and more irrelevant than ever after a questionable Grammy performance (one of Monday's top Google trends is "How old is Barbra Streisand?"), others will remember it as the weekend the diva displayed preliminary signs of brain-aging by forgetting the demographics of her fanbase.
On Friday, while being honored as a MusiCares Person of the Year, Barbra issued a catty diss to our beloved Glee. Babs was quick to respond to what seems to be the de-facto question from entertainment reporters these days ("Will your music be used on Glee?") with a hearty "not if I can help it."
Thankfully, whether it's because of the gay blogosphere revolt or the amount of homo FB status updates denouncing her Grammy perofrmance, Babs has come to what remains of her senses. Today she took to her blog to clarify her distaste for Glee (but so far no apology for Sunday night's shoddy performance.)
“I should have said, ‘You never know.’ It was wrong to say, ‘Not if I can help it.’
“[I've been] overwhelmed preparing for my performance on MusiCares, the Grammys, recording a new album, and starting a new movie ... and besides that, I wasn’t asked [to do Glee].”
Forgiven?
