Sources involved in the sexual coercion lawsuits lofted at Bishop Eddie Long report that the suits "have been resolved," lending credibility to speculation that the anti-gay pastor paid-off the four young men accusing him of bullying them into gay sex acts. Details follow.
From Atlanta's WSB News:
Barbara Marschalk, who represents New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and LongFellows Youth Academy, said she anticipates " the lawsuits will be dismissed, with prejudice, by close of business tomorrow."
B.J. Bernstein, who represents the four men who sued Long, New Birth and LongFellows, also confirmed the lawsuits had been settled.
Neither side would comment further and settlement terms were unknown.
Aiding the impression that a pay-off has taken place, Bernstein's office added that the four plaintiffs are not available for interview "on this matter, now or in the future."
