Granville Ampong, the conservative Examiner reporter who outed rising fighter Manny Pacquiao as a vehement homophobe, has come clean to say that Pacquiao actually did not quote the Levitical edict calling for the death of gays.

Reports CBS News:

Ampong clarified that Pacquiao was not quoted saying the verse, nor did the boxer invoke it during their interview.

“As we see, nowhere in my supposition and integration of my interview with Pacquiao did I mention that Pacquiao recited this Leviticus 20:13 nor did I imply that Pacquiao had quoted such,” he said in his Examiner report.

Ampong said he merely used the verse to remind “how God made it clear in the Old Testament time that such practice of same-sex marriage is detestable and strictly forbidden.”

He also blamed biased writers for twisting his column.

Ampong has issued a demand for certain members of the mainstream media to apologize to Pacquiao for his shitty writing job.

Filipino boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao isn’t too keen on President Obama’s support of same-sex marriage.

Pacquiao appears to be spouting the same party line as other anti-gay religious folk. He name drops Leviticus and notes that all the gays should die, per God apparently. (It’s Leviticus 20:13 for your reference: “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”)

He believes “the sweeping campaign of Obama favoring the gays and lesbians to legally marry is nothing more than a direct attack on the moral society and against the creative power and will of God."

Pacquiao continues: "God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other."

"It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old."

He adds, “America should be the model of morality for other countries to emulate and must have the responsibility to uphold the Scripture to the highest order of God's command.”

Does ANYONE remember that we don’t live in a theocracy?

Also, which companies are endorsing this guy? We wonder if they're aware of his views?

Religious groups and the GOP have suppressed the rights of the Gay and Lesbian community for FAR too long. It was about time a public official like Obama stood up for this human rights issue while Mitt Romney hides behind Red State Religion and his Magic Mormon Underwear. See Mitt in his sacred undergarments praying for enough money to buy this election so he can spread his bigotry and homophobia at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot...rwear.html

Why is it when anyone take a view that oppose same sex intimacy they are label with homophobia? Personally it sends a message of bullying! People have the right to their views without being called names. In response to THEOCRACY this world revolve on theory which is man opinion. Nature has a way of defining itself woman have bone structure that speaks to birth canal (female) males do not. This my friend is not HOMOPHOBIA but fact!!
