With the Oscars and Angie's yes-we-can-can fame whoring leg barely out the door, awards season continues with the revealtion of *some of the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize nominees. Bradley Manning, the openly gay US Army private accused of the biggest military leak in the country's history, has been included in the 231 names to receive a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
Manning, who allegedly leaked 250,000 cables of classified military documents to Wikileaks, joins Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and others in this year's round-up of Nobel nominees.
Last week Manning deferred his plea at the start of a criminal trial in which he's being charged with aiding the enemy and 21 other counts.
Though the Nobel Committee never releases the names of nominees, judges often exercise their right to reveal their selections. Nobel Committee Secreteray Geir Lundestad told the AP on Monday that this year's list of nominees "is a mixture of repeated nominations and some new names."
How do you feel about Bradley receiving a Nobel Peace Prize nod, Instincters?
