Ooh! Broadway hottie Will Swenson is moving from the stage to the big screen, but this time he'll be behind the camera!
The Tony nominated actor will be directing Facing East, a feature film currently in pre-production that tells the story of a prominent Mormon couple dealing with the aftermath of their gay son’s suicide.
The Trevor Project is endorsing Facing East and the film will be donating 10 percent of all profits to the LGBT youth hotline.
Facing East launched a Kickstarter campaign today! Check it out after the jump!
Facing East - Kickstarter Campaign
Their goal is to raise $65,000 to push them through pre-production in fall 2013.
What's in it for you beyond ensuring that an important story makes it to the screen?
The campaign's offering unique rewards for fans of both Mr. Swenson and his Broadway diva wife, five-time Tony winner Audra McDonald, including autographed memorabilia and lunch with the couple. They're also offering lunch with the three stars from Priscilla Queen Of The Desert (Will Swenson, Nick Adams and Tony Shelton).
Not eating? How about having Ms. McDonald sing to you over the phone on your birthday, or to have Mr. Swenson serenade you publicly.
Yes, please!
The Facing East Kickstarter campaign finishes just before Christmas, so consider the rewards as a potential Christmas gift!
