...for now.
Last month we brought you the story of student Bianca "Nikki" Peet's fight to create a gay-straight alliance at Four Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Not only was her request denied, but the school district then canceled ALL extracurricular clubs in the hopes of avoiding the issue.
Well, in a vote of 4-2 during a Tuesday night board meeting, the Four Bluff School District voted to allow a gay-straight alliance at Nikki's school -- with one caveat: it's a temporary approval as the board reviews their policy on the issue.
“We’re committed to supporting all students in our community, and I think this is the right way to do it,” board member Wally Graham said. “This is what we think is in the best interest of our students.”
We expect you to stick to your decision, Four Bluffs School District!
