Cyndi Lauper fans may suddenly be traveling to Chicago in droves!
The Windy City has been selected as the location of the pre-Broadway tryout of the upcoming musical, “Kinky Boots,” which Cyndi has written the music and lyrics for.
Details after the jump.
“Kinky Boots,” based on the 2005 British film centered around a shoe factory that starts making fetish footware in the midst of an economic downtown, will be performed at the Bank of America Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St., and will open in early October.
It will play several weeks, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to memorize all the lyrics and impress all of your friends. You may even be able to incorporate it into a cabaret act before the show opens on Broadway in early 2013.
Individual tickets are not yet on sale, but they will be soon. Breathe.
Head over to the Chicago Tribune for more practical info. We just started harmonizing “True Colors” so we need to wrap this up and give that our full attention.
Priorities.
