We wonder if the GLAAD Awards have a "No Take-Backs" rule because we're sure they're side-eyeing Days Of Our Lives right now!

The soap had been giving us life over the past year with their beautifully crafted story following Will Horton's coming-out process.

Now the show's newly hired writers, Gary Tomlin and Chris Whitesell, are turning the whole story on its head and having Will have sex with a girl. Classy.

Will's portrayer, Chandler Massey, who won a Daytime Emmy award for his work in Will's gay storyline this year did his best to explain his character's actions, saying: 

"Will is battling self-esteem issues. So when you get two people who have some sort of romantic history in a room together, and both are feeling insecure about themselves, they seek any comfort they can find."

We doubt most gay men (who've come out and accepted themselves as Will has this past year) would suddenly start chasing vagina just because they're feeling down.

Could the character simply be bisexual? Sure. But that's not the story that's been written for the past year, and new writers deciding to come on-board and play that card out of nowhere feels cheap.

What do you think, Instincters? Is this a bad call on the part of the soap?

just enjoy the Ride Who cares who Will decide to sleep with, I just dont like Gabi thats the only reason why I have a problem with it I dislike Gabi

I actually find this rather disgusting. In combination with no one associated with Days coming out to address Melissa Reeves' gleeful tweet supporting Chick-fil-A, it's really making me wonder who Days is out to please.

Not that I expect afterschool special fare from a soap, but now is not the time to send the message out to people who don't get how homosexuality works that a gay man can sleep with a woman if he really wants to. There are people out there who still think homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, and after the care Days took to make the uneducated and close-minded reluctantly start to accept and understand that, this is huge affront to those viewers who loved this storyline and were excited and emotionally-invested enough to want and look forward to more.

There is no "ride" here to enjoy.

This will surely have some people reaffirming their beliefs that being gay is a choice. Way to go Days for trying to re-establish false beliefs of people who have NO idea that it ISN'T a choice!

I knew they would pull this crap, they all do it when the going gets tough especially when it comes to these right wing people threatening the sponsors, well guess what the gay community can not just threaten the sponsors but stop buying the products all together and stop watching the show also. These new writings better know where their bread it buttered and stop trying to convert gays to straight AKA Michelle Bachman style. You have been warned.

It is highly insulting what this show is doing. The fact they have two gay men on the show and neither one has had sex with other men, yet one of the gay guys had sex now twice with a straight female is highly disturbing. I do wonder what GLAAD thinks about this? The story DOOL won an award for has now been flushed down the toilet.

Sleeping with a chick when you are gay is not unheard of. Will regrets what he did afterward. He will continue to be gay. I'm not saying that I like him sleeping with Gabi but sometimes s**t happens when you are distraught. Easy to fall back on the familar.

@Jenn - Uh if you sleep with a girl, then you're not gay. That's why people are upset by this. If he was questioning or bisexual, then it would a bad decision by the character. But to have him be gay and then sleep with women sets the wrong example. It's not a choice and even fictionally saying so is wrong.

I've known gay men who went with women after a breakup or stress. I even know a man that was exclusively gay get married. Give the writers a break. They are only trying to keep the interest going.

Not happy about this one bit! But why should any of us be surprised? ! I have neen looking forward to Will and Sonny's story continuing and them becoming a couple. Being gay isn't a choice, no more than being str8 is and this an affront to it!
