Democrats Write Marriage Equality Into Draft Of Party Platform |

As hoped, leading Democrats have included marriage equality for same-sex couples as a plank in the party's first draft of a new platform. The final version of the platform will be voted on at the Democratic National Convention. Details follow.
The 15-member panel voted unanimously to include marriage equality in the party's platform. Also reportedly included are official opposition to DOMA and support for ENDA.
“I was part of a unanimous decision to include it,” Rep. Barney Frank told the Washington Blade. “There was a unanimous decision in the drafting committee to include it in the platform, which I supported, but everybody was for it.
