Sounds like somebody enjoyed himself a little too much at Columbus Pride...
Ed Mullen, the executive director of Equality Ohio (Ohio's largest gay rights group), has resigned after being arrested last Saturday during Columbus Pride festivities.
More after the jump.
Mullen, 44, is facing misdemeanor charges of menacing and disorderly conduct after allegedly going to an unnamed individual's property and threatening him around 7:20 p.m last Saturday.
According to court reports, "Mullen also began taking pictures of the man’s house, saying, 'Smile now, we’ll be back for you.'"
Yikes.
Mullen, a civil rights lawyer, has pled not guilty to the misdemeanor charges.
Mullen's departure from Equality Ohio is effective June 29.
Paul Feeney, a board chairman at Equality Ohio says, “Ed’s leaving for personal reasons, and we regretfully accepted his resignation. We didn’t ask for his resignation. We wish him all the best.”
