Guess it's a bad day to be the Seattle Space Needle...

As if on cue, we just received word that the Empire State Building will celebrate New York City’s Pride Week from Friday, June 22 through Sunday June 24, 2012 by shining its world-famous tower lights in rainbow colors.

More after the jump.

We love NYC Pride and with the Empire State Building shining like a rainbow beacon (think of it as our North Star as we stumble along the streets of Chelsea and the East Village from Friday to Sunday), it'll only make the weekend that much more epic.

FYI, this year’s Pride March will take place at 12:00 noon on Sunday June 24. The parade begins on 36th Street and Fifth Avenue and ends at Christopher and Greenwich Streets.

May the rainbow be your guide, kids.

This year, at least, the Empire State Building is much higher that the Space Needle in so many ways.
