Yea, we love our fashion and we love our drama, but two controversial fashion spreads in one day? It's almost too much for even our black, dead hearts.

Our second sartorial scandal of this gorgeous Friday involves an Italian fashion editor who, in collaboration with a hair and makeup stylist, decided that taping a white girl's eyes into slants to "appear Asian" was a good idea for Vogue Japan.

Model of the moment Crystal Wenn looks amazing no matter what. But despite her powerful beauty, plenty of folks are left in utter disgust after Wenn's eyes were taped into slants (unevenly, at that!) for Vogue Japan by an Italian-based fashion editorial team.

Bloggers, like Geisha School Dropout's Julie Kang are in an uproar.

"First of all, the taping was done unevenly, so she looks odd. But most importantly, she doesn't look more Asian at all because obviously, the rest of her face isn't Asian, and for the millionth time in my life, not all of us Asian people have "chink eyes"!!! Argh! If you knew Asian people at all, you'd know that 1. Dolce & Gabbana doesn't have to resort to racist editorial spreads to garner attention...Asia LOOOOOOVES them already and 2. If anything, we actually prefer BIG eyes."

Connie Wang echoes the sentiment in a posting at Refinery29:

"Is it better because it's in an Asian magazine? Does it matter if it's two white ladies making an editorial for primarily Asian women?"

How do you feel about the Italian fashion editorial team's decision to tape Wenn's eyes in the name of fashion?

Why don't we tape the eyes of the fashion editors completely?
