All the blocking, judging of ab shots and one word greetings Grindr users put up with on a daily basis certainly makes them opinionated authorities on getting around (the world, that is!). So now that Grindr has announced the roster of distinguished wining cities for its first ever Gay Travel Awards, people are taking notice and rearranging summer travel plans.
Which international cities did Grindr users crown the gayest? Which international cities have the hottest Grindr users? The answers to your long-held and most pressing questions, after the jump!
Posted to Grindr's blog on Friday:
Besides presenting awards to the democratically voted best gay hot spots, the Grindr team has decided to honor two cities in particular as the Best Destinations to Get Married. Provincetown, Mass., is our stateside selection. We’re giving P-town the nod because Massachusetts was the first U.S. state to legalize gay marriage way back in 2004. Buenos Aires, Argentina, is our international pick; we chose the city because we wanted to commend Argentina for being the first Latin American nation to legalize gay marriage.
Additionally, we’re regaling Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the title of Best Gay Pride Celebration. After all, the Guinness Book of World Records named Sao Paulo’s celebration as the biggest pride parade in the known universe in ’06. Kinda can’t argue with that one.
And the winners are:
Gayest U.S. City: New York City
Gayest International City: London
Best Gay Beach U.S.: Miami
Best Gay Beach International: Rio de Janeiro
Best Gay Resort U.S.: Palm Springs, Calif.
US City With Best Gay Festivals: San Francisco
International City With Best Gay Festivals: Sydney
Hottest Grindr Guys U.S.: Los Angeles
Hottest Grindr Guys International: Tel Aviv
Best Destination to Get Married U.S.: Provincetown, Mass.
Best Destination to Get Married International: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Best Gay Pride Celebration: Sao Paulo, Brazil
