Isn’t it always the same story? You meet a guy. He’s good looking, He’s worth billions of dollars. Then he starts talking politics. It turns out that with $2.6 million in donations, openly gay billionaire Peter Thiel is the not-so-secret sugar daddy to the Ron Paul campaign. More on Ron Paul’s new piece of asset coming up.
While the big money players for the Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney campaigns have made their presence well known, Peter Thiel whose checks have accounted for over 75% of Ron Paul’s donations has remained in the shadows. As of yet, Thiel, PayPal co-founder and original Facebook investor has donated $2.6 million to Endorse Liberty, the super PAC that supports Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Thiel is a German-born self-made billionaire who identifies as a libertarian. Currently the managing partner for the Founders Fund, he has an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion, so no, his donation to Paul wasn’t anywhere near bank breaking. Mr. Thiel, we’ve got a few guys in the office who need their student loans paid off if you’re still feeling generous.
"He has great insight," said Jimmy LaSalvia, executive director of GOProud, the gay Republican group who were shunned earlier this year by other GOP’s from the Conservative Political Action Conference. "He also is inquisitive, and most of the conversations I’ve had with him have been him asking questions. He gathers a lot of information."
Thiel’s donations to Endorse Liberty have helped sponsor viral videos that have slammed Santorum, Gingrich and former GOP presidential candidate, Rick Perry. Check out one of these videos from the Ron Paul campaign below
We applaud any project where Newt Gingrich is shown putting his foot in his mouth, but does he really need any help with that?

I't about time the Gay community started to support the Libertarians who have been fighting for individual liberties since 1971.
