Perhaps the National Organization for Marriage should've asked big corporations based in Minnesota to stay out of the fight against civil rights sooner? One day after NOM sent a letter to MN businesses, General Mills has decided to disobey the anti-gay group and has come out in opposition to the constitutional amendment that seeks to ban marriage equality in Minnesota.

The news was announced by Minnesotans United for All Families:

Fortune 500 Company General Mills has just announced that the Golden Valley, MN corporation opposes the constitutional amendment seeking to limit the freedom to marry for committed same-sex couples in Minnesota.

Sign our petition today thanking General Mills for supporting all Minnesota families!

Thankyou General Mills (I signed the petition). Guess I'll have to start eating cereal now. It's too bad companies and Carrie Underwood are getting a negative response to speaking up for equality. This may deter others from speaking out in our behalf. They need our support.

What a significant strategic error for a family-foundational business to stake such a clam. I can't believe they would be foolish enough to risk splitting their customer base!

Good for them!!! My gay friend works for them (in Minnesota) and I'm glad he will have support through his job.
