Four nominations, to be exact, making it the most nominated TV show. The nominations for the 67th Golden Globes, the fun awards show, were just announced and not only is Glee up for Best Comedy and Jane Lynch for best supporting actress (just give her the trophy now), but Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison also got leading actress and actor noms.
Lea has some big names to battle, with Toni Collette, Courtney Cox Arquette, Edie Falco and Tiny Fey also nominated for best actress, while Alec Baldwin, Steve Carel, David Duchovny and Thomas Jane are up for best actor. TV’s man of the year, Neil Patrick Harris, continues his roll with a supporting actor nomination for How I Met Your Mother.
Glee is up against other gay fave Modern Family (will they split the vote?!), while the long-running winner 30 Rock is also among the nominees along with Entourage and The Office.
On the film side, the big news is double nominees and actors being up against themselves.
Queen Meryl has to fight off herself in best comedy actress, with nominations for both Julie & Julia and It’s Complicated. Sandra Bullock is nominated for best dramatic actress (The Blind Side) and best comedic actress (The Proposal), as is Matt Damon for The Informant! and Invectus.
Monique got her expected nomination for supporting actress in Precious, and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe for lead actress. But, sorry lambs, no love for Mariah. Precious is up for best drama film against The Hurt Locker, Avatar, Inglorious Bastards (but no Brad Pitt nomination!?!) and Up In The Air. Best comedy films are 500 Days of Summer, Julie & Julia, Nine, It’s Complicated and The Hangover.
The winners will be revealed Jan. 17, and you can check out the long list of nominees here.
