Well, it sounds like somebody changed their tune.

Whether he simply had a change of heart or he received death threats from Gleeks and UnaBomers, Gotye has backtracked from his harsh critique of Glee’s cover of his smash hit, “Somebody That I Used To Know.”

Check out his new stance after the jump!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gotye took time out of his intimate performance at Hollywood’s Sayer’s Club yesterday to address the controversy.

He explains that "the nature of using reverb and space in a recording can change your perception of how a sound appeals to you."

Specifically referring to the Glee cover, which he originally called “dinky and wrong,” he qualifies that he was initially referring to "this xylophone hook in my song—it's kind of dinky not just in the cover version but the original song."

Somehow, he added mockingly, "that becomes the Glee cover I hated and Darren Criss is an asshole."

Eager to clear the air, Gotye told the crowd that, "I thought it was really clever to transpose the song to two guys ... It was a great idea."

And there you go. What do you think, Instincters?
