...which is funny because I thought Gwen Stefani's solo career was over in 2007. Follow the jump to hear what the sassy pop-tart tells Entertainment Weekly about her future in music.

When EW asks Gwen about the state of her solo career, she replies:

“That was a moment in time,” Stefani said firmly when asked about the future of her solo career. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should.”

But fret not, fans! EW alludes to the possibility of new music from No Doubt sometime in the very near future.

Are you upset you won't be hearing any new solo-stuff from Gwen?

Nope. Here stuff with No Doubt is much better. Even Shirley Manson of Garbage (and a good friend of hers) has said she sold out. I'm only looking forward to her new stuff now that this realization has hit her.
