In response to the Monday release of the National Organization for Marriage's 2010 financial records, the Human Rights Campaign hits hopefully the final nail in NOM's coffin directly on the head: with only five big donors, how can NOM call itself a "grassroots organization"?

Questioning if NOM is simply a thinly-veiled front group for a few rich homophobes, HRC president Joe Solmonese writes on Tuesday, "This is extremely unusual—that practically the entire budget of a $9 million national organization is funded by five mysterious individuals or entities. We can only conclude that NOM’s claim to being a grassroots organization representing thousands is phony. Tax returns don’t lie. NOM speaks for a few wealthy anti-LGBT donors and does not speak for the majority of Americans who support marriage equality.”

In further evidence proving NOM stops at no ends to inflate the appearance of its rank with lies and distortions, the organization has yet again stolen pictures to claim as its own.

On its website aimed at splitting apart families in New Hampshire, NOM uses photos from New York and Minnesota disguised as images from hate rallies held in the Granite State.

Fortunately, we're starting to lift NOM's veil. But, because we actually have hearts, we'll practice kindness and let the five homophobes behind the hate group don a different kind of veil during the organization's inevitable funeral. We're softies.
