Affable straight ally Josh Hutcherson, 19, has much to celebrate today. Not only has The Hunger Games now matched Avatar in consecutive-weekend box office records, but the young actor is poised to make even more history after a big announcement from GLAAD this morning.

We've praised the young hetero hero of the LGBT recently and now GLAAD is doing the same by honoring Josh as the youngest ever recipient of its illustrious Vanguard Award.

"Emerging as a leader in a new generation of equality advocates, Josh Hutcherson has consistently used his platform to help young people understand that no one should face discrimination simply because of who they are," said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. "Josh's commitment to achieving equality for every American is a message he carries in his work both on screen and off, earning him the honor of being GLAAD's youngest-ever Vanguard Award recipient."

Josh is counted as one of the founders of the Straight But Not Narrow Campaign and is known for his passionate activism for the LGBT community, including a stop at a high school GSA in March. He will be presented with the honor at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles later this month.

Congrats on the award, Josh!

Today GLAAD also announced that current Instinct cover guy Jason Mraz will perform at the April 21 event.
