We've been eagerly awaiting Ira Sachs' follow-up to his brilliant, Keep The Lights On and now we've got news on his next project!

The filmmaker will direct veteran Hollywood heavyweights, Michael Gambon and Alfred in the New York based relationship drama, Love Is Strange.

You're telling us, Ira.

Details after the jump!

Deadline exclusively reports:

"Ira Sachs will direct Michael Gambon and Alfred Molina as a married couple in the NY-based relationship drama Love Is Strange. The follow-up to Sachs’ semi-autobiographical drama Keep the Lights On similarly explores the romantic ups and downs of a gay relationship, with Gambon and Molina playing longtime partners forced to live separately after their Manhattan nuptials. Parts & Labor, the company behind Lights, is producing.

Sachs, nominated for a Best Director Indie Spirit Award for Best Director for Keep The Lights On, reteamed with Lights co-writer Mauricio Zacharias on the script."

Sachs brought us a devastating look at the consequences of addiction and relationship co-dependency in Keep The Lights On (a 2012 Instinct Top Films pick).

We're excited to see what relationship minutiae he shines a light on in this next film. What about you, Instincters?
