Move over, Pride. For years, Halloqueen has been giving you fist fulls of sickening competition to become the other gay holiday on the annual calendar.
As we all know, West Hollywood's Halloween Carnival is a major international event attracting hundreds of thousands of revelers onto Santa Monica Boulevard every October 31. But it seems West Hollywood isn't the only city CC'd on the memo announcing the gay takeover of the holiday.
Gays have seized Halloween festivals and events in New York's Greenwich Village and along Halsted in Chicago, but it might just be New Orleans' Halloween holigay extravaganza (now in its 29th year) that best gives West Hollywood's celebration a run for its money.
Move over picking out just one or two costumes for gay events in other cities; for the spooky spectacle in New Orleans—where 100% of proceeds go to benefit the Lazarus Project and the Trevor Project—you can put your creativity (or skin) on display over a four day Halloween weekend featuring international DJs, parties and more that'll leave even Sharon Needles proud!
When we got wind of their monster celebration this year, we knew we had to be there and have already decided we're going as Ryan Lochte (a.k.a. annother annual excuse to be half-naked).
Where will you celebrate Halloween? Any early costume ideas to show off in New Orleans?
