Modern Family's Cam & Mitchell are changing lots of hearts, but could one of those be flip-flopping (not in the fun way) GOP candidate Mitt Romney's? Star of the show Jesse Tyler Ferguson (pictured here with boyfriend Justin Mikita) hopes so.
After the shock from hearing that the presidential candidate who doesn't support marriage equality or even civil unions is a fan of the show, Modern Family's JTF expresses optimism that Romney can be a changed man thanks to ABC's hit comedy.
Speaking to New York Magazine at this week's Gaga Barney event, Jesse said, “Well I hope Mitt Romney is wondering why he likes the show so much,” he told us. “Maybe he sees that [gay parents] Mitchell and Cameron aren’t quite so bad, and maybe he needs to re-think some things. But I love that he watches the show. I think that’s very big of him, and I’m hoping that he’s being changed a bit, in his heart.”
Considering Romney has already changed a bit once (from wanting to be a greater gay rights supporter than Ted Kennedy to his current anti-gay incarnation), JTF's Modern Family hopes aren't outside the realm of possibility!
