In what might amount to the sexiest and most exciting thing to happen to golf since Tiger, the entire team playing for Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas has been suspended for a playful Facebook photo. In the photo, the teammates pose nekkid, holding nothing but golf clubs and balls (the double entendres are killing me!). Follow the jump for more details and the censored pic in question.
Golf coach Jon Daniels says all 15 members of the men's team were involved in taking a picture on a hilltop with nothing on. The men posed with the head of their golf club covering their private parts. The picture was then posted on facebook with the title Men's Bethany Golf Team. The coach says the boys were inspired by pictures of the UCLA men's players who posed with a bucket of golf balls in front of their private parts. Those pictures were published in the magazine Golf Digest and Sports Illustrated.
Daniels says he talked to the boys about upholding the reputation of the Lutheran college and the golf team. He suspended the team from playing in three tournaments.
Team captain John Hiscock (I'm not making this up!), pictured, says the boys will appeal the decision.
And here I thought golf was boring!
