Calling all Angelenos!
Do you know an outstanding Los Angeles-area resident who is working to make a difference in the lives of LGBT Californians in their community?
If so, why not nominate them for the 'Good Neighbor' Equality Award, which will honor unsung heroes of the LGBT community in the greater-Los Angeles area.
More after the jump.
Equality California (EQCA), the largest statewide LGBT advocacy organization, in partnership with State Farm Insurance, will honor one outstanding Los Angeles-area resident who is working to make a difference in the lives of LGBT Californians in their community.
They're looking for individuals that have demonstrated leadership and commitment to serving their community by providing needed services, helping others, and making their communities better places to live and thrive.
The nomination deadline is July 20, 2012. The honoree will be presented the award at the 2012 Los Angeles Equality Awards at The Beverly Hilton on August 18, 2012.
You can nominate potential nominees, here! (And as added incentive, EQCA will award a pair of complimentary tickets to the Los Angeles Equality Awards ($700 value) to the individual whose nominee is selected for the award.)
Equality California Board President Clarissa Filgioun says, “While elected officials and movement leaders play a critical role in our efforts to achieve equality, we also know that there are countless individuals across our state making significant contributions to our movement who deserve our thanks, appreciation and recognition. We are proud to engage the LGBT community and our allies in applauding these unsung heroes and thank State Farm Insurance for partnering with us in the important celebration of this work.”
