marilyn

We knew she was a gay icon for a reason!

According to the new book Marilyn Monroe: My Little Secret, it's revealed that the love between gays and Marilyn Monroe was nothing short of mutual.

Over at the Village Voice, Michael Musto has summed up author Tony Jerris's story of Jane Lawrence, president of Marilyn's fan club at Fox:

According to the book, when Jane was 14, she told Marilyn that she'd met someone special.

Named Kimberly.

Marilyn didn't flinch in the least, but replied, "I like that name. Sounds very girly. She's lucky because you're the best, kiddo."

Marilyn added that she wanted to meet Kimberly, "to make sure she's good enough for my Janie."

"You think it's OK if I like another girl?" wondered Janie, filled with uncertainty.

"Of course it's OK," assured Marilyn, taking her hand.

"When two people love each other, who cares what color or flavor or religion they are?

"It's two human beings. It's beautiful. Love is beautiful. It's that simple."

Michael goes on to say that Joe DiMaggio overheard the conversation and argued with Marilyn over the matter, but Marilyn continued to stick up for Jane against the big guy.

Could we adore her anymore?!

She's was such a lovely person! I adore her as much as you can love a celebrity. Marilyn is and was an angel, but of course in human form with human actions smilies/tongue.gif

I think its important to respect peoples personal sexual relationship, weather they are gay or straight. Ive never understand why people, especially religious people, are so up-in-arms, just because someone is gay. With all the miseries going on in this world, there are more important things to be concerned about than two adults making out in the bedroom, yet, somehow there are some people who percieve homosexuals as sex offenders, and for no good reason.

As long as humanity has existed, homosexuality has existed.
