After making it through the state House on Friday and a Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee today, marriage equality legislation is headed for a Wednesday vote in the Maryland Senate.

Should the Senate approve same-sex marriage as expected, Gov. O'Malley will make good on his 2012 legislative calendar by signing the Civil Marriage Protection Act into law. As in Washington state, however, homophobes have pledged to put a repeal of the civil rights measure up for a vote in November should Maryland lawmakers successfully adopt marriage equality.

I pray that this is appoved tomorrow! I have a grin on my face from ear to ear. I never thought that I would see the day come that my partner and I would have the same rights as everyone else in this country has.
