Anti-gay megachurch pastor T.D. Jakes, who once called gay folks broken and unworthy of his employment and unworthy of his church, told Oprah that he doesn't want his legacy to be smeared with the santorum stains of homophobia that he's so far knee-deep in. His plea for a homophobia-free memorial (and the typical "I'm not a homophobe but I'm homophobic), after the jump.
"The perception in our society today is that if you don't say you're for same-sex marriage or if you say that homosexuality is a sin that you're homophobic and you're not for gay people," T.D. told the Mighty O. "That's not true... It doesn't mean I have to agree with you to love you. I think that sex between two people of the same-sex is condemned in the Scriptures. I'm not particularly political, not particularly denominational. I'm not anti-gay, I'm not anti-anything. I don't want to be known for what I'm against."
T.D. is known for his religious counseling with three presidents, including Barack Obama.
