Young Conservatives For The Freedom To Marry has announced that outspoken Republican LGBT advocate, Meghan McCain will be joining their leadership committee.

In a statement, McCain says:
“I’m thrilled to join the Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry, who believe, as I do, that we don’t have to choose between conservatism and marriage for all committed couples.
"I look forward to spreading the message that the tenets of family, personal freedom and responsibility point the way toward a GOP that fully embraces the freedom to marry.”
Freedom To Marry says, "Momentum on marriage is steadily increasing among Americans, including those who identify as conservative and Republican. Recent polling shows that 49% of Republicans between the ages of 18 and 29 support the Freedom to Marry."
With the support of allies like Meghan, perhaps the Republican party will move faster towards widespread support of the LGBT community.
