We previously reported on Patrick Sullivan, Jr., the disgraced former sheriff who was arrested in November for trading methamphetamine for sex with a gay male prostitute.

He was recently sentenced to 38 days in the jail that bore his name, the Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. Detention Center.

Well, that’s changed. More after the jump.

Sullivan is still serving time in jail, but the jail will no longer bear his moniker. We guess that’s fortunate or unfortunate depending on your perspective.

Arapahoe County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday morning to remove Sullivan's name from the jail. The facility went back to its original name: the Arapahoe County Detention Center.

Apparently, Sullivan’s name was removed less than 30 minutes after the meeting.

Clearly the county commissioners weren’t wasting any time.

What do we think, Instincters? Does this twist the knife a bit? Or should Sullivan be grateful that he’s no longer suffering the shame of being incarcerated in a building with his own name?
