Peddlers of "I Love NY" merchandise take note: you've lost a loyal customer in Troy, Michigan Mayor Janice Daniels, who is the subject of homo headlines today for recently-uncovered uncouth Facebook status updates from earlier this summer. Details follow.
Janice Daniels, fashionista and poet, threw away her "I Love New York" homosatchel in June after marriage equality became state law. Her disgust with the ubiquitous accessory is making headlines after a Facebook status update was uncovered over the weekend.
"I think I am going to throw away my I Love New York carrying bag now that queers can get married there," wrote the mayor on June 25.
OKābeing upset with us queers, Mayor Daniels, is one thing; but taking your homophobic rage out on an innocent (and high-class luxury-brand) fashionable "carrying bag"? That just crosses the line.
The next day Mayor Daniels displayed even more class by penning a poem The Atlantic is surely scrambling to publish.
"Ther once was a pervert named Weiner; Who had a perverted demeanor; Forced from the Hill; For acting like Bill; Now Congress is one weiner leaner."
If we wanted to sink to the level of this d-bag we might announce that we were tossing our "I Love Troy" "carrying bags" out.
