kluwe debate

Apparently Minnesota Vikings punter, Chris Kluwe (see how knowledgable we are about football now? We know the positions and everything!) will be going full Eastwood on us tonight in Minnesota.

The out-spoken gay rights advocate will be participating in a debate on marriage equality opposite "empty chair," much like the legendary filmmaker at the Republican National Convention.

The difference in this case is that we're thinking Kluwe will actually win the debate. More after the jump!

The Star Tribune writes:

"Vikings punter Chris Kluwe will compete for marriage equality on Friday at the Brave New Workshop Theatre.

Kluwe is scheduled to debate "an empty chair" on Minnesota's proposed marriage amendment at 5 p.m., Oct. 19, at the workshop's Experimental Thinking Centre, located at 824 Hennepin Av. S. Minneapolis. Twin Cities radio personality Tom Barnard will moderate.

A blunt, outspoken opponent of the amendment, Kluwe has invited amendment supporters, including Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and former Viking Matt Birk - who also has been outspoken on the other side - to the debate. So far, his offers have reportedly gone unanswered.

The event is open to the public but reservations, made through Barnard's Facebook page, are required."

Will any of our Minnesota Instincters will be making the trek to tonight's debate. If you do--pass along our thanks to Chris, and we won't hold it against you if you try to get him in the huddle.
