Voters in North Carolina will head to the ballot on May 8 and decide if they want a constitutional amendment banning marriage equality passed in the state. With the countdown clock furiously ticking away to D-Day, a moneybomb has been launched by the Coalition to Protect ALL NC Families in an effort to draw opposition to the vehemently gay Amendment One

According to organizers of the fundraising effort:

Thanks to you, the vote on May 8 will be close. I know that, and our opposition knows that, and they have sounded the alarms nationally.

That is why we need your help today. Thanks to your support we have raised nearly $950,000 for our campaign to defeat Amendment One and today we are launching a week long moneybomb to push our campaign over $1,000,000 by April 2.

Raising $1,000,000 will send a message to everyone in North Carolina and across the country that we are in this campaign to win. We’re not aiming for a symbolic victory; we intend to send this amendment down in defeat and protect all families of North Carolina.

The moneybomb has already almost raised half of its $25,000 goal. For more on the fundraiser and Amendment One or to donate, head here
