Proving once again that Catholic hierarchs couldn't be more out of touch with the people who actually practice the faith is a new poll from the New York Times/CBS.

Reports the Times:

More than two-thirds of Catholic voters supported some sort of legal recognition of gay couples’ relationships: 44 percent favored marriage, and 25 percent preferred civil unions. Twenty-four percent said gay couples should receive no legal recognition.

Again, white evangelical Christian voters expressed more conservative views. A majority said there should not be legal recognition of a gay relationship, while 18 percent said they should be allowed to marry and 25 percent supported civil unions.

Despite the Santorums of the world, the survey also revealed that 50 percent of Republicans support the legal recognition of same-sex couples.

Check out the full new poll here (same sex couples come up on page 22).

I hope you people realized that as I write this, innumerable married gays around the world are committing acts of what I have taken to calling “homoterrorism”.

Homeland Security agents across this great nation should be on the lookout for same-sex love acts that, while seemingly inconsequential to the untrained eye, are part of a devious conspiracy calculated to destroy Traditional Marriage by promoting a Godless, gay, faux-nuptialed lifestyle. If a large number of lesbians were to hug one another, it could cause the collapse of the Greek economy, for example. (SEE! I TOLD YOU!). A sufficient volume of men kissing other men would undoubtedly result in The End of Days.

In terms of national security, this clearly constitutes a "fuchsia-level" alert situation (which is super-high).
