The frequent marriage equality polling conducted by the New York Times and CBS has finally caught up with what similar surveys have been reporting for a few years now to reveal that a majority of Americans support marriage equality.
Embedded in a 34-page document mostly covering the upcoming presidential election is a single question about same-sex marriage that marks a turning point for this particular poll. When asked if it should be legal or not legal for same sex couples to marry, 51 percent of respondents answered "legal." Those who feel equality should be "not legal," however, only numbered at 41 percent.
Despite the unstoppable evolution of the American public, word from Buzzfeed is that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have given up on the economy and will begin to wedge "social issues" such as marriage equality into their campaign.
