Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe—our hero of the week and the man responsible for adding the indispensable "lustful cockmonster" to our vocabulary—joined MSNBC's The Ed Show to discuss the brazenly brilliant letter that everybody has been talking about.

As we reported on Friday, Maryland lawmaker Emmet Burns demanded the NFL punish pro-gay Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo for speaking in support of LGBT rights. The gall, right?

The Ravens were quick to shun Mr. Burns' demands and issued a statement supporting Brendon, reading, "We support Brendon's right to freedom of speech under the first amendment."

While Brendon defended himself in applause-worthy statements on Twitter, Chris Kluwe took the time to pen one of the most poetic cases against homophobia the sports world has ever seen. (Head here to read its scathing gorgeousness in full.)

With the letter an instant viral success (you can't go wrong with "magical lustful cockmonsters"), MSNBC invited Chris to expand upon his thoughts about Mr. Burns.

"As athletes we have this very prominent platform where we can affect social change. It behooves all of us to do the right thing," is just one of the swoon-inducing statements Chris gave during the interview.

Sure, our shallow inner cheerleaders enjoy rooting on footballers based on how they look in their tights, but now, thanks to these two guys (and the growing crowd of other pro footballers coming out in support of LGBT rights),  we might actually start paying attention to the game!

I'd marry this guy, but do I really have to pay attention to the game?
