Nicki Minaj Comes Out As Straight, Admits She Isn't Actually Bisexual

Nicki Minaj's gay fans who were turned off by yesterday's news that the Trinidadian pop star "supports Mitt Romney for president" might have to bring the starships back down to earth according to Rolling Stone.

The timing of the interview with Nicki is mysterious (it's either new or resurfaced on the music mag's website with today's date, according to sources), but the confession it contains is clear: Nicki Minaj lied about being bisexual to generate buzz and kick off her career.

From the RS article:

Early in her career Minaj claimed to be bisexual, but now says she just did that to get attention. "I think girls are sexy," she says. "But I'm not going to lie and say that I date girls."

How do you feel about Nicki's admission, Instincters?

Is it comforting knowing that we now live in a society where being bisexual (at least for women) can be advantageous? Or is it offensive that Nicki exploited our community to help achieve fame?

I think its lame to lie about who you are when so many LGBT r struggling to be themselves and be seen as equals. A little more sensativity on her part would go a long way...I never liked her music in the first place, but her support of Romney's platform doesn't make me jump to like her as a person either.

I'm constantly asking the stranger, how he or she feels about our Darling Nikki. I repeatedly get that they feel she is either a gimmick or just plain irrelevant. I just look at her as a "Fame Whore." She has prostituted her soul 4 the cause of an industry she loves. I personally feel she is a female hustler at her best. Smart & crafty. So the way she has played this was smooth. She created her own conflict & buzz. She has us talking about her, proving herself an important part of Pop-Culture 2day. The deception & the lie mean nothing, hell, we don't even know if she has any damn hair, when the purple wigs come off, & we probably wouldn't recognize her NA grocery store when the war paint is off her pretty face. So do we really KNOW Nikki? The answer is "No," & believe me that's just the way she wants it.

1st off all I am just going to start off and say I liked her frommm the start, just from her name alone. I don't understand why y'all are talking down on her. What did people only like her cause she was gay? If so, then I feel like she made people have a little more respect for gays. I really don't care what she did or if she's gay or not! It is hard to get into any type of business and just like everybody else she did whatever it took to make her successful and she was damn good at it. Let's think of her strive to achieve in life nomatter what achievement, Nicki Minaj accomplished hers and is still striving and motivated. Think of the big picture for her, because it's her life, and let's not sit and find anything to judge her or anyone else on!
