The National Organization "for" Marriage (NOM, NOM, NOM, if you will) has released a new ad in Minnesota supporting the state's controversial, very anti-gay gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer. (If the name sounds familiar, Emmer is the one who received a $150,000 campaign donation from Target successfully putting the bullseye retailer under the boycott shotguns of the GLBT.)

Make sure you haven't had breakfast yet because the barely-palatable ad from the wingnut group of bigots invokes none other than Dr. Martin Luther King to get its anti-Christian message of hate across.

Surely you have lots of feelings about NOM's choice of using Dr. King's famous speech in its efforts to get an anti-equality politician elected, so voice them in the comment section below and you could win an HP Touchsmart Notebook (follow the link for details and rules).

I can't believe they would use Dr. Martin Luther King's speech to try to promote everything he was against. WTH is this world coming to?

Eventually and I hope the day is coming soon, that we're all over being a political pawn to the point of 'gay marriage is the greatest evil in the history of man.' What would happen if the world would get this pissed about rape, poverty, sexual abuse or domestic abuse?

And MLK's image in a anti-equality ad is completely screwed up,I agree. Sadly it'll connect people on a psychology level so it's going to be effective, I'm afraid.

It goes back to a tweet I read recently from pourmecoffee: "Gays are most powerful beings to ever walk the Earth; by simply being can destroy marriages, the military, society itself."

Keep fighting everyone,
