Absolutely no one expects the Rupert Murdoch-owned NY Post to exhibit a shred of integrity, but a headline that ran today in the publication sinks the ship to an even lower level. An otherwise relevant story about the validity of Chaz Bono as a the trans community's mainstream ambassador was punctuated with the horrifically offensive headline "War of H'wood she-men."
The story discussing the son of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening raising thought-provoking criticisms over recent comments from Chaz Bono gets left in the dust with the surprisingly low-blow from the Post.
One commenter's reactions sums up what has echoed throughout the LGBT community today.
"she-men? cute. how about "latke lappers" for a battle between a couple of hollywood jewish denizens? or "jungle jims" for another group? now *that* would be pushing the envelope. try it sometime, why don't ya?"
Others im the article's comment section call for readers to alert GLAAD.
We've contacted GLAAD as well regarding the offensive headline and will update this story if and when the organization decides to comment on the matter.
Until then, what do you make of the NY Post's decision to go with "she men," Instincters?
