JC Penney has posted a $163 million loss for the quarter and "One Million Moms" really, really wants you to believe that it's due to their Ellen DeGeneres-inspired boycott. (Never mind the fact that OMM "moved on" from a.k.a. dropped its unsuccessful protest months ago.) Details follow.
Though experts attribute the loss to JC Penney's pricing strategy change, OMM director Monica Cole believes the "elephant in the room" is the real reason for the loss.
"Sales have plummeted since J.C. Penney showed their new, bold marketing strategy, including pushing a lesbian spokesperson and same-sex couples in their advertising," Cole said. "If they would stop pushing a deviant and unhealthy lifestyle and focus on product quality and value along with excellent customer service, their bottom line would not be suffering."
Should we expect NOM to follow suit, months or years after inevitably dropping its boycott of Starbucks, the moment the coffee giant experiences the slightest dip?
