We had a feeling we were on to something special when we re-launched our website and blog a year ago this month, but today a study from Harris Interactive confirms it: GLBT adults are more likely to read blogs and participate in online social networks than our straight counterparts.

The numbers of adults polled show that 54% of GLBT read blogs, compared to 40% of our straight friends.

Getting down into the nitty-gritty, Harris Interactive found that news blogs get the most gay eyes (36% of GLBT readers), followed by entertainment and pop culture blogs (25%).

When it comes to a presence on Facebook, the gay community takes the cake (gluten-free and locally sourced, of course). Nearly two-thirds of those GLBT polled (73%) said they maintained profiles on Facebook, compared to 22% of straights.

Is the blogosphere the last great gayborhood that we're slowly gentrifying before the heterosexuals fully take over?
