Pope Benedict escalated his war against the international LGBT community on Monday with some of the strongest anti-gay (and, actually, anti-Christian) comments he's spewed since assuming the gold-laced frock.
In complete contradiction of Sec. of State Hillary Clinton's landmark call for international gay rights late last year, the Pope told diplomats from 180 countries that they need to be more homophobic in his new year address given on Monday afternoon.
Labeling marriage equality as a threat to "the future of humanity itself," Pope Benedict went on to say, "This is not a simple social convention, but rather the fundamental cell of every society. Consequently, policies which undermine the family threaten human dignity and the future of humanity itself."
The Pope warned the audience of diplomats about the indoctrination of children by homosexuals around the globe and added that "pride of place goes to the family, based on the marriage of a man and a woman."
