Like billions around the world, I'm totally obsessed with Jesus -- though it's a very different alter I'm hoping to kneel before. Blasphemous? Perhaps. But Jesus Luz is totally worth a little devilish temptation, right? (Shot for Brazil's FFW Magazine by photographer Fabio Bartlet).

) If any of you reading this don't know, I'm Christopher Jones, Marketing Director here at Instinct. Over the years, many of my friends, both personal and professional, have come to support the magazine. In waking, checking the news, reviewing our website, facebook page and my personal email, I saw this blog post by our staff stirred the pot with some people I hold dear. I, personally and apart from Instinct want to apologize to those friends offended. While I don't find it offensive or disrespectful to play on the fact of Jesus Christ and Jesus Luz sharing the same name, I do understand how others would find the sexual references disrespectful, or more so, uncomfortable. Personally, I'm not sure how I feel. When reading it, that little pit of discomfort we all get from time-to-time rose in my stomach and I had to wonder... Is this that ubber conservative and religious upbringing of yours stirring around? Or do you really find this to be disrespectful and offensive? Ya know what... I'm not sure. I'd like to believe the same God who created us all also has a sense of humor. I'd also like to believe that the church and school that told me regularly who I am as person is wrong, are incorrect. So many of the feelings that I have in reference to God, I realize were feelings instilled in me by the church's fear of our community. As an adult, my relationship with God has been like learning to ride a bike all over again. I'm figuring it out on my own and realizing my feelings are different then the feelings the church and others told me to have. So, I challenge other Christians, all Christians, to question what is true for them and what is just propaganda by the Church. I would like to think that the God I personally have a relationship with is sitting in heaven on facebook, reading our blog post and thinkin', "Those dirty ho-ho's at Instinct. Are they trying to insinuate I'm gay? Totally not my style! I'm Polyamorous - I love everyone. And damn that Jesus Luz! I want his abs." Ok, back to work Instinct-ers! xo C.J.
