Protests in New York are swelling with dissatisfaction over the top 1 percent. Nope, we're not referring to Occupy Wall Street, but instead to another issue near and dear to our black, dead hearts; one that's vital to the very fabric of American society: People's annual Sexiest Man Alive issue.

On Wednesday, we brought you word that the publication had controversially bestowed Bradley Cooper with the honor. In the two days since, anger has manifested into protests over Ryan Gosling getting screwed (perhaps we should re-word that or risk distraction from this sentence on...?). Follow the jump for the real-world protests that have resulted from the unfortunate Gosling oversight.

On Thursday, as crowds numbering in the thousands peppered lower Manhattan with OWS protests, an equally-upset assembly gathered in front of People Magazine's Midtown office to voice their discontent with Bradley Cooper usurping the Sexiest Man Alive thrown.

In the days ahead of the announcement of Cooper as the top pick, George Clooney voiced his support for Gosling and revealed that he and Brad Pitt had even groomed the hot young star for the free-world's top position.

"He really wants it ... The whole time we were on the set of Ides, he was like, 'How did you pull that off?' So I called up Brad Pitt and we worked with him for weeks on the walk ... we told him how to train ... everything."

George Clooney and Brad Pitt training Ryan Gosling for Sexiest Man Alive? When will Crunch offer that freaking class?!

Ok. First it's throne, not thrown.

Second, they need to reset their priorities. Who cares who a few magazine editors choose for Sexiest Man of the Year?

Ugh. smilies/smiley.gif
