Well, you can't say lawmakers in St. Petersburg, Russia don't make good on their horrific promises/threats. After months of controversial debate and international attention the Russian city has officially banned the "promotion" of homosexuality, including Gay Pride. Details after the jump.

In a law that ties gays to pedophiles, St. Petersburg has now made life even more difficult for its LGBT community.

Violators of the law, which passed with a vote of 29 - 5 in the legislator, face a fine of up to $16,000 if charged with promoting homosexuality. Companies or legal entities which promote the LGBT community face fines up to $160,000.

finally some promising news for Russia. Hope this will be noted by folks in the US as well. I am sick and tired of those mutants showing off on the streets and in front of my kids. Way to go Russians!
